This banjo has a 9.25" quarter sawn spruce drumhead, mahogany neck, maple position marker inlays, and geared tuners. The pot is a simple hoop with 1/4" thick walls made from a section of industrial mailing tube painted black. This is light and sturdy. The vibrating string length is 23.5"; the overall length is 32".
It is currently strung with a set of Aquila Nylgut banjo strings which retail for $8.50. This gives it a quiet, plunky, mellow sound-- very authentic for old-time clawhammer playing.
